Special Accommodations Session Information
Hi there! Thanks for your interest in my photography services. This little note is just to give you as much information as possible before our shoot. First and foremost, I want to make sure you have looked through my website and my social media pages and that you like what you see. I am a lifestyle photographer. Photos with me are simple and fun ~ so let’s embrace the chaos! I want to tell the authentic story of your family so please don’t get stressed over “picture day”!
My families tend to be budget-minded people who value and prioritize their photographic memories. My prints are made at a professional lab on high-quality photo paper and are color-calibrated to my monitor for the best quality. I want you to have prints on your walls so my print pricing is very reasonable (an 8×10 is $8, to give you an idea) and I also offer a variety of print packages to save you money.
What makes Rachel Elizabeth Photography different?
I am accredited by Hearts & Lens (formerly Special Kids Photography of America) and I earned my Autism Certificate from IBCCES. This means that I am equipped with a little extra patience, understanding, flexibility, and sensitivity as well as a few handy tools and resources to have a successful session with kiddos (or any family member!) who might need a little extra. I understand that every person is different and am ready to work with you to make your session as comfortable and positive as possible. Booking and Signing
- We will discuss and choose a date and location for your photos.
- You may decide that you would like your child or family member to meet me before the session. Depending on location, we can do this either in person or via Zoom.
- I will email you a quote, contract, questionnaire, social story, and invoice. It’s here that you will choose a package.
- The invoice is payable in 2 installments: 25% due to book and the remainder due on the day of the session.
- Once the contract is signed and the retainer is paid, you are booked!
Planning
You will need to choose what everyone will wear (I can help)! It is best if everyone is comfortable. Make sure that you feel awesome wearing the clothes that you choose and your family does as well. I urge you to choose a color palette and go with it! Don’t worry about matching patterns, etc. I will be working to create true-to-you photos of your family…so if that means that your 3-year-old doesn’t wear a shirt or has on last year’s Halloween costume…so be it. Because of my very authentic style, I do not offer a client closet. I do advise against logos, text, neon colors, or very thin stripes on clothing. Smile sessions work best with bare shoulders or plain white tee shirts. I am also happy to meet prior to the session day for coffee or at a park so that I am not a “stranger” on the day of the session. Just let me know what your family needs!
Shooting
THE SESSION! The most exciting step in this process is the actual session! Most sessions are one hour, during which I will probably make a complete fool of myself trying to get real smiles and authentic laughter in the photos. There will likely be potty jokes and fart noises. Drink lots of water on the day of your session and please resist the urge to give the kids crumby or colored foods in the car on the way to the session! Depending on your family, the session could be shorter or longer than an hour. I am flexible and understand that things might be best kept short…or that we may need some extra time for breaks, etc. The absolute most important thing: DON’T STRESS and try not to stress out the rest of the family. This is gonna be fun, promise!
Peeking
After our session, I will pick a few quick favorites and post them on my social media (usually a few hours after the session is complete). You are free to share and tag these images.
Viewing and Selecting
- You can expect your gallery about 2 weeks from the session date. (This can vary in the busy season.) Your gallery will allow you to share and download your web-ready images. The web-ready images are low-resolution and watermarked. Print-ready images are high resolution and ready to print elsewhere with a print release.**Your gallery will allow you to share and download your web-ready images. - You can order through your gallery or you can save 10% and shipping (East Mesa area only) by ordering directly through me. My print pricing is very reasonable.
Build Your Own Package
1-hour-ish session for up to 6 people, web gallery, web-ready images, consultations, $25 print credit, and 8 print-ready images with print release **$325 minus $50 discount**
Full Package
1-hour-ish session for up to 6 people, web gallery, web-ready images, consultations, $50 print credit, and all of the print-ready images with print release on a custom USB **$625 minus $50 discount**
Smile Session
25-minute session in a studio set-up for 1 child. (each additional child is $25 and +10 minutes), web gallery, web-ready images, 1 print-ready file with print release (per child), consultations **$125 minus $25 discount**
THESE SESSIONS USE A STUDIO LIGHT SET UP. Please speak to me if your child will not do well in this situation.
In Home Session
A unique in-home hour-in-the-life session (90minutes). Candid, lifestyle photos that will capture your family as you are. This session can include pool photography. Includes a web gallery, all of the web-ready images, all of the print-ready images with print release plus a 20-page 8x10 softcover album. **$825 minus $50 discount**
Important Information
I retain the copyright to all of my images and do not offer the copyright or the RAW images for sale. If your package includes print-ready files, you will receive a print release that needs to be signed. You are not permitted to enter the photos into any sort of contest or use the images for financial gain without my written consent. You are also not permitted to alter or edit the images in any way including Instagram or other app filters. Your images will be a 3:4 ratio and cropping will occur for printing and social media profile pictures. This is okay. Please note that if you print your photos through a retail outlet other than mine the color could be off. My computer and gear are specifically calibrated for my print vendor.
